Vikram Nair was wrong again ?

“‘I had thought since Mr Chen was a lawyer and also knew economics, he would respond in an equally vigorous fashion. But he did not, and only said that he did not have anything else to clarify. I felt very bad at that point so I did not press further.’ – Vikram Nair.

Mr Nair was taken to task for his exchange with Aljunied GRC MP Chen Show Mao on Feb 29. The PAP MP had described Mr Chen’s call for the Government to invest more in vulnerable groups as better than a ‘Nigerian e-mail scam’ because it seemed to suggest that ‘you don’t have to put in any money at all, and you get more than money in return’.” – ST

<I had thought since Mr Chen Show Mao was a lawyer and also knew economics, he would respond in an equally vigorous fashion.>

Vikram Nair was wrong again, Mr Chen Show Mao did respond in an equally vigorous fashion NOT in parliament but via Facebook with his now famous Donald Low Economice 101.

Focusing on whether Mr Chen Show Mao should have responded vigorously in parliament or via Facebook is nitpicking. Don’t all MPs in other First World Parliaments respond via Facebook rather than in parliament?

Focusing on whether what Mr Chen Show Mao passed off as his own ideas and insights are really his own is nitpicking. Don’t First World Opposition MPs plagiarise? Mr Pritam Singh is also a First World Opposition MP and he too plagiarised. It’s just a question of integrity, what’s the big deal?

It is unreasonable of Vikram Nair to expect Mr Chen Show Mao to respond in an equally vigorous fashion in parliament as Mr Chen didn’t have Donald Low with him in parliament on that day.
